Nestled in a lush hilltop location on the secluded island of Nevis, Montpelier Plantation offers a sanctuary of breathtaking beauty far from the stresses of modern life. Whether it is walking through the hotel's tropical gardens, relaxing in a hammock, or finding a quiet spot on Montpelier's private beach, you will be transported to a place of peace and tranquillity.

The private beach club – Montpelier by the sea – at Pinneys beach offers sunshelters, beach pavilion, bar, changing room, WC and shower. Sports activities are available to enjoy and guests are offered use of ocean kayaks, snorkelling equipment and mountain bikes. Occasional ‘guests versus staff’ cricket matches on the green by the beach. A 15 minute journey from the hotel by complimentary transfer which leaves daily at 10.30am and guests agree on a common pick up time or order a specially arranged taxi.

Children over 8 years old are welcome.

Minimum stay requirement - 10 nights over Christmas/New Years.

Montpelier Plantation plans to close on 17 August 2010 and reopen on 11 October 2010 for the Annual Holiday and between mid August and mid October 2011.

Hotel Accommodation
Number of rooms/suites: 8 Premier Rooms, 8 Plantation Rooms,
The Garden Suite and The Villa Suite (2 bedroom).

Facilities in each room: either king size bed with a canopy or 4-poster, ortwin beds, ceiling fan, air-conditioning, direct dial telephone, iron and
ironing board, in-room safe, hair dryer, fridge, private veranda, bathroom with bath and shower and tea/coffee making facilities. Elemis products in all bathrooms

Premier Rooms

Semi-detached cottages house the spacious premier rooms which are
dotted along the edge of the hillside, with views across the valley to theocean in the distance. Each room has tiled floors with white washed walls,mahogany writing desk and cedar lined wardrobes, louvered windows and a door leading onto a private terrace. The spacious bathrooms have full size bath with overhead shower, welcome amenity pack including cotton wool buds, shoe sponge, shower cap, sewing kit, shampoo, conditioner and bath gel.

Plantation Rooms

These elegant rooms, all with king size beds, offer a little more luxury for guests. The amenities are the same as the premier category, include new tiles and wooden floors, restyled décor throughout and a chic modern look to the bathrooms including vessel sinks, seductive lighting, solid oak tops, and new temperature controlled showers with rain-shower heads.

The Garden Suite

A spacious split-level suite consisting of an open bedroom and sitting room which blends contemporary styling with old plantation charm. With farm raised bamboo flooring, a large walk in rain fall shower, four-poster king size bed, and wide jalousie windows that allow the air to flow through the room providing a natural cooling breeze. Modern conveniences have not been spared in spite of the suite
being ‘green’ – a Nespresso coffee machine, wet bar, air-conditioning, iPod docking station and wifi access are all available. There is also a
private outdoor Gazebo offering a garden sanctuary with fabulous views of the hills and the sea, surrounded by lush vegetation and an
oversized couch with large throw pillows Note: an adjacent Plantation room can becombined with The Garden Suite to create a 2-bedroom Suite.

The Villa Suite

Stylish separate 2-bedroom cottage decorated in chic Plantation style, with views over the lawn and out to sea on one side, and Nevis Peak with Nelson’s Lookout on the other side. Spacious living room opening onto two covered porches and the open sun deck and an inviting 9 x 7 foot plunge pool. Full entertainment centre with Internet, TV, DVD, CD and MP3 station, wet bar, Nespresso coffee machine and separate kettle for 'Revolution” tea. Two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and semi outdoor showers with views of Nevis Peak and bathtub. Air conditioned bedrooms and ceiling fans throughout.

Breakfast on the terrace – 8.15am to 10.00am.

Lunch at the pool bar – 12.00pm to 2.30pm.

Picnic lunches can also be arranged for guests visiting Montpelier’s private beach. This includes delicious salads, bagels, sandwiches – all served withfresh fruit and homemade cookies.

Afternoon tea at Indigos– 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

Pre dinner drinks and cocktails in the Great Room from 7.15pm.
Dinner – 3-course dinner in the Great Room Terrace from 7.30 pm onwards or 4-course dinner in The Mill, open most nights.
Also a tapas menu at Indigo by the pool bar using local ingredients with a good choice of different wines by the glass.

The Spa at Montpelier embraces the tranquillity of the location 750 metres above sea level where the trade winds are fresh, the air is clean and the energy from the mountain helps rejuvenate both mind and body. Guests can escape and become at one with nature at this spa suite with large glass windows and scented jasmine. A full menu of treatments and exquisite spa packages are available.
