Nestled on a lush hillside, the Carl Gustaf Hotel is perched above Gustavia, the capital of St Barthélemy. Its 14 luxury suites are spread out below on the hillside, and plummet into a tropical garden of flowers and palms. Access to each building is via a central staircase. It's just minutes away from one of the island's most protected coves, Shell Beach.

TRAVELING TO ST BARTS:

FERRY

MV Voyager departs daily from the waterfront in Marigot, St. Martin, at 9:00 AM and at 6:15 PM to arrive in Gustavia around 75 minutes later.

There is also a hight speed ferry named The Edge that comes to Gustavia once a day from Tuesday till Saturday. It leaves from Pelican Marina in Dutch St. Maarten at 9 AM. The passage lasts around 45 minutes

You can also charter a high-speed boat to come and pick you up in St Maarten. Contact Marine Service or Master Ski Pilou, who offers a 24/7 St. Maarten water taxi service.

From Guadeloupe, Air Caraïbes offers a few direct flights to St. Barths (45 minutes) and others via St-Martin departing at times meant to accommodate the arrival of the bigger planes from Europe.

Air Caraïbes also has sereral flights a week between San Juan and St. Barths via St. Martin.

Private Charter facilites from Antigua to St Barths with Carib Aviation. It is an average of $500pp one way and it can of course connect with arriving flights.

Locally based charter flights, which can ease transfer, especially from San Juan and Antigua (British Airways has a handy flight from London to Antigua), are also available.

Hotel Accommodation
All 14 suites have western "sunset" exposure, and consist of bedroom with a king-bed, living room, kitchenette, a private plunge pool and a sun terrace.

(6) Six One-Bedroom Suites with Private Plunge Pool (approx. 800-sq. ft.; accommodates two guests;Ocean View) – These select suites feature a large living room with ceiling fan, central air conditioning,
fully-equipped kitchenette, separate master bedroom with king-sized bed, mahogany topped bedside tables, sitting area, his and hers closets, an armoire with television, and a master bath, replete with a
multi-jet shower, double-length sinks, separate water closet and integrated hair dryer. Large outdoor terraces with comfortable deck chairs and private plunge pools complete the setting. (The king-sized
bed can be converted into twin beds. It is also possible to add a roll-away bed in the bedroom.)

(6) Six Two-Bedroom Suites with Private Plunge Pool (approx. 1,200-sq. ft; for 4 guests; Ocean View) –
The two-bedroom suites feature a large living room with ceiling fans, a fully-equipped kitchenette, two separate bedrooms with central air, a large dressing room, two bathrooms with shower, two sinks,separate toilets and an integrated hair dryer. There is a large outdoor terrace with deck chairs and a private plunge pool. The king-sized beds can be converted into twin beds. It is possible to add a rollaway
bed or an extra bed in the bedrooms.

(1) One Spa Suite - (approx 400-sq. ft, for 2 guests.) – Located just above the resort’s spa, the Spa Suite will be completed in 2008. Offering a private plunge pool and overlooking Gustavia Harbor and Shell beach, this suite is ideal for two, and features a living-room, separate bedroom with king sized bed, and a luxurious ensuite bathroom with multi-jet shower, double sinks and separate water closet. The Spa Suite features many amenities, including mini-bar, LCD flat screen TV and satellite channels, CD/DVD player, IPod system, complimentary Wi-Fi access, cordless telephone, safety deposit box. A large terrace with deck chairs and plunge pool complete the lovely setting.(Note: A cot can be added.)
